Kyoto International Conference Center (ICC Kyoto)

The Kyoto International Conference Center (ICC Kyoto, 国立京都国際会館) is a landmark conference venue located in Takaragaike, Sakyō-ku, Kyoto, Japan. Opened in 1966 and designed by architect Sachio Otani, the center is recognized for its distinctive hexagonal design and its significance as one of the few remaining examples of Metabolist architecturein Japan.

Renowned as the site where the Kyoto Protocol was signed in 1997, ICC Kyoto has hosted numerous international summits, congresses, and academic meetings. The venue offers over 156,000 m² of space, including a Main Hall(capacity: 2,000), Annex Hall (capacity: 1,500), and an Event Hall, all equipped with simultaneous interpretation facilities for up to 12 languages.

Surrounded by the scenic Takaragaike Park and adjacent to the Grand Prince Hotel Kyoto, the center provides a serene yet modern environment that blends seamlessly with Kyoto’s natural and cultural landscape. Conveniently accessible via the Karasuma Line subway, ICC Kyoto remains one of Japan’s premier destinations for international meetings and congresses.
